1. What is the Throw Signature?

Every player throws differently. The cadence between your darts, the way your scoring cluster sits on the board, the routes you choose on a checkout, the rhythm you fall into during a long match — all of those tiny details combine into something that is as personal as a handwriting style. We call that pattern your Throw Signature.

ThrowSense quietly observes your play over time and builds a personal profile of how you usually throw. From that profile we calculate one simple value — your signature match — that tells you, and only you, how closely your most recent sessions resemble your established style. A high match means "this looked like you". A lower match means "something about today felt different".

The Throw Signature exists to give your play a recognisable identity inside the league, to keep ranking points fair across all participants, and to give you something genuinely yours to be proud of as you grow.

2. Why does it exist?

A competitive league only works if everyone trusts the leaderboard. The Throw Signature helps us deliver three things:

• Recognition — your signature is a visible, measurable expression of how you specifically play. Two players with the same average can still have very different signatures. Yours is yours.
• Fairness — when something looks unusual for an account (for example, a session that does not match the long-established style on that account), the system can react gently and proportionally rather than ignoring it.
• Continuity — the signature evolves with you. If you genuinely improve, change setup, or pick up a new finishing route, the system adapts without ever holding your past against you.

Most of the time you will never notice the Throw Signature exists. It runs in the background, lets you play freely, and only ever reaches out when something genuinely warrants a quick check.

3. What does it look at?

The Throw Signature is built from data the platform already collects when you play. We deliberately do not list every individual measurement we use — that detail is part of what keeps the system effective and is treated as confidential — but the families of signal can be summarised simply:

• Rhythm — the natural pacing of your throws within a visit, between visits, and through a longer session.
• Placement — where on the board your darts tend to cluster around the target you intended to hit, including your usual offsets and dispersion.
• Decisions — the kinds of choices you make under pressure — for example, your typical setup-dart preferences and finishing routes.
• Performance shape — how your scoring profile rises, dips and recovers over the course of a leg or session.

These signals are combined into a single, smoothed score using a confidential proprietary method. We intentionally do not publish the exact formulas, weights or thresholds — that level of detail belongs to the system that protects the league, not on a public page.

4. How does it learn?

The signature is built passively. You play normally; the platform observes the result; over many darts a stable picture of your style emerges.

When you are new to ThrowSense your signature is treated as provisional and given the benefit of the doubt — there simply is not enough history yet to draw reliable conclusions. The longer you play, the more accurate and the more uniquely yours the signature becomes.

Your signature also keeps up with you. Real, gradual improvements (a better stance, a new grip, more practice, a smoother finishing rhythm) are absorbed into your baseline so that personal growth is rewarded, not penalised.

5. What you see

The player-facing Throw Signature lives in your Settings page. There you will find:

• A signature-match value — a percentage that tells you how closely your recent play matches your usual style.
• A timeline showing how that value has moved over your most recent sessions.
• Personal route preferences — the finishing routes you prefer, which you can override at any time so the system learns your way of finishing instead of the textbook way.

6. What might happen

Almost always: nothing visible. You play, you are recognised, your ranking points count normally.

Occasionally, when several recent sessions in a row look unusually different from your established style, the system may take a small, proportional action — for example reducing the weight of those specific results until the situation is clarified, or asking you for a quick voluntary verification on your next visit (a short text confirmation, optionally with a quick selfie). Verifications are reviewed by a human admin and approved verifications fully restore the affected results.

We deliberately keep these reactions soft and reversible. The wording is always neutral — "identity deviation", "playstyle inconsistency", "verification recommended" — and never assumes wrongdoing.

7. Your control

The signature is yours. You are not an outside observer of it; you can shape and steer it:

• Override your finishing routes for any score in Settings → Your checkout routes. Your preferred routes feed back into the signature so the system speaks your dialect, not just the textbook one.
• Reset your overrides any time to fall back to defaults.
• If you receive a verification request you can respond at your own pace within the time window shown; you also have a self-service contact option to talk to an admin directly.

8. Privacy commitments

The Throw Signature is built from data you already share with the platform when you play (event data such as scores, segment hits, board coordinates and timing). We never use the following without explicit, separate, optional consent:

• no audio recording or sound analysis,
• no continuous video or face recognition,
• no third-party data brokers or external profiling.

9. Honest limits

We have built the Throw Signature with care and we are proud of it, but we are also honest about what it is and what it is not.

The Throw Signature is a best-effort, advisory system. It does not, and is not promised to, identify every kind of unusual behaviour, nor will every reaction it produces be correct in hindsight. Final responsibility for the integrity of any individual ranking point, prize or result therefore rests with the league administration following the procedures in the Tournament & League Rulebook and the Safety & Compliance Policy — not with the score on this page.

10. Frequently asked questions

Will my signature match drop just because I had a bad session?

A single off-day will barely move it. The system smooths your value across many sessions and requires a sustained, multi-session deviation before it ever takes a visible action — exactly to avoid penalising normal sporting variance.

I am improving fast. Will the system flag me?

Genuine, gradual improvement is absorbed into your baseline and is the reason your signature exists in the first place. Sudden, very large jumps in style — not in score, in style — that look more like "a different person threw these darts" than "I have been practising" are what the system actually reacts to.

Why don't you publish the exact formulas?

Because the value of the system depends on its details staying confidential. We are happy to describe what it does in plain language (which is what this page is for); we are not willing to publish a recipe that would weaken the protection it offers to every honest player.

Can I switch it off?

The signature is part of how ranking integrity works inside the league and cannot be individually disabled. You retain full control over your overrides, your data and your account, and you can request a manual review of any specific decision.

I think a decision was wrong. What now?

Use the in-app contact button or the contact form linked in the footer. A human admin will review the situation and any verification you submit. Approved verifications fully restore the affected results.
