🗺️ Dart Map

The Dart Map shows fellow ThrowSense players on a world map, powered by OpenStreetMap. It's a lightweight way to discover other players in your region and see how active the community is.

Privacy first

Your real address is never shown. When you save your location:

  1. We geocode the city and country you entered.
  2. We apply a cryptographically-random 3–5 km offset at a random bearing.
  3. Only the jittered point is ever stored or shown.

That means even other logged-in players (and the ThrowSense database itself) never see your exact home address. You can also hide yourself from the map entirely — ticking "Show me on the map" is fully opt-in.

How to add yourself

  1. Go to SettingsDart Map Location.
  2. Enter your city and (optionally) country.
  3. Tick Show me on the map if you want to be visible.
  4. Hit Save Location.

The map then renders a 🎯 dart marker near your location the next time someone visits /dart-map.

What's on the map

Every marker shows:

  • The player's display name
  • The fuzzed location (city · country)

Clicking a marker opens a popup with a link to their public profile.

Removing yourself

Uncheck Show me on the map and save, or clear the city + country fields and save — both options take you off the map immediately.
