📣 Match of the Week¶

Match of the Week (MotW) is an editorial highlight — a single fixture per calendar week that league admins pin to promote attention, betting pools, or in-person viewing events.

What it does¶

When a fixture is pinned as MotW:

• A prominent banner appears on the league home page, linking directly to the fixture page.
• It's highlighted on the Fixtures tab with a 📣 badge.
• Players get a notification the day before kick-off.
• The result is featured on the league's public profile after the fixture ends.

Who can pin it¶

Only league staff (admins and moderators) can select MotW. From the fixture page, click Admin → Pin as Match of the Week. You can only have one MotW per ISO week per league.

Unpinning¶

Pinning a different fixture in the same week replaces the previous MotW. You can also unpin explicitly from the admin sidebar.

Automatic expiry¶

Once the MotW's week ends (Sunday 23:59 UTC), the banner disappears and the fixture goes back to a normal fixture — no manual cleanup needed.
